Read These Tips Before Buying An Automatic Swimming Pool Cleaner
When you are looking for an automatic swimming pool cleaner, you have basically three types to choose from – skimmer systems, booster-pump systems and in-floor systems. It doesn’t really matter which one you use as long as you do have a pool cleaner to keep the water free from debris and harmful bacteria. The automatic cleaners save you a lot of work, because it is backbreaking work to manually clean a swimming pool and it is something that has to be done on a regular basis.

With the skimmer systems, the cleaner is connected to a skimmer and uses the suction to continuously vacuum the pool. It consists of a standard vacuum hose connected to a skimmer suction that roams all over the bottom or the pool sucking up the large pieces of dirt and debris. You do have to clean out the strainer because it can get clogged with such things as leaves that fall into the pool. You can also add a leaf-collecting canister to the hose to avoid having to do this job too often.

If you want to have a booster-pump pool cleaning system, you have to install a separate pump that catches the water on its way out of the filter. The pump then turbocharges the water sending a high pressure of water through a flexible hose that moves about the pool. Within this type of automatic cleaner there are two varieties – a vacuum head and a sweep head. The vacuum head cleaner has a catch basin to hold the large pieces of debris that the cleaner picks up and the sweep head cleaner have long swirling arms that stir up the water so that the debris goes into a drain where it gets sucked into a basket. The smaller pieces of dirt get caught in the filter.

The in-floor cleaning systems are actually built into the floor of the pool. This system is for an in-ground pool because it is put in when the pool is installed. The cleaner consists of heads that pop up on the bottom of the pool and spray jets of water that force the dirt towards the main drain of the pool.
